Meet the breeder

I'm Sarah M., the breeder behind Sarah's Basset Hounds located in Plant City, FL. I am 23 years old I have a full time job and I also raise fancy chickens as a hobby and I ship them all over the USA. I have been raising livestock for over 15 years. I recently got into Basset Hounds about 5 years ago as they are not a common breed anymore and they are the sweetest dogs.

Q. & A. with Sarah

  • Why did you start breeding?

I was house sitting for someone as they were out of town and had a dog getting ready to have puppies (Great Dane) and they also happen to have a Basset Hound. It was my first time seeing a Basset Hound in person and I absolutely feel in love. You also don’t see the breed that much anymore so that was another reason I decided to start breeding them.
  • What makes your program special?

All my dogs are heath tested and come from other amazing breeders and each one has there own unique traits.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include black and brown, black brown and white, red and white, lemon and white, blue tan and white, and blue and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
