I'm Kelli S., the breeder behind Schusterheim Shepherds located in Manton, MI. We are very passionate about dogs and responsible breeding practices. We hope to help families find their puppies from responsible and ethical sources to help build a better and safer world for our dogs. Our breeding program focuses on producing the best health, temperament, and conformation of the west german show line shepherds. We are also one of America's top importers of the best german shepherd lines in the world. We have imported litters available throughout the year. You can reach out to us here, or on our FB page Schusterheim Shepherds.
Q. & A. with Kelli
Why did you start breeding?
Growing up I had a GSD mix. He was the most incredible and loyal dog. He was the reason I fell in love with the breed. After he passed away I eventually got my first full blooded GSD. Then we got two. As with anything I love, I started to research the breed. My husband and I decided to start breeding in the year of 2013 and have worked hard to keep improving ever since.
What makes your program special?
We are not a large scale breeder. We only breed a few times out of the year. Because of this we are able to spend much more quality time with each puppy and build better relationships with our buyers. We believe in breeding for quality not quantity. Our puppies are home raised, not kennel raised. When we retire our breeding dogs they get to live out their life with us. They are our family.
What are the different breed coat types in your program?
Our puppies include plush and long coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies are black and red. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
