Q. & A. with Briana
Why did you start breeding?
While in High School I joined FFA, my freshman year, and I was instantly hooked. I joined the Livestock Judging team and quickly excelled in local competitions. I’ve always been fascinated and impressed with DNA and genetic traits passed down from each generation. I am dedicated to continuous improvement in my program!
What makes your program special?
I ensure every puppy gets one on one attention and is socialized before going to it’s forever home.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies are white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Breeder-Reported Testing
Good level
Shadow Lane Genetics reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for West Highland White Terriers.
Patellar Luxation
Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.
DNA Disease Panel
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
