I'm Shauna J., the breeder behind Shauna Jones Family Basset Hounds located in Republic, MO. It's our goal to produce adorable, affectionate Basset Hound puppies that are healthy, well-tempered, & make wonderful companions. These dogs are bred and raised from the moment they are born to be naturalized around kids, other animals, the outdoors and to be an inside dog.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    When we decided to add our Roo to our crew we searched forever and the process proved to be very difficult. After we finally added her to our family I decided I wanted people to have access to affordable good tempered Bassets for their kids and family to love. That was in 2019 and the rest is history ♥️ raising babies are my passion and eating them grow is absolutely the love in my life.

  • What makes your program special?

    All of our females are raised in our home as pets. They are part of our family as are all of our puppies that come into this world. Puppies are interacted with daily, are working on crate training daily, and started on potty training. I don’t have business pages as I want people to see the real me and only have a personal account.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Shauna

Shauna has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Shauna partners with them to find the best puppy match.

Puppy prices include a $200 non-refundable deposit and $750 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“Price includes 4 rounds of wormer, vet check, AKC litter registry, all first round of puppy shots, as well as loved on daily and brought out around our whole family. All of our puppies are the same price across the board regardless of gender and color.”

This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.   • Elbow Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered)

    Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.

  • Eye Examination (rDVM, not registered with OFA)

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • Cardiac Evaluation (rDVM, not registered with OFA)

    Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

    Shauna is a great human being. Buying anything online is stressful these days, especially puppies because you never know if the person on the other end is real. I promise you Shauna is. She is very attentive and will answer all your questions pretty fast. You can message her at anytime with any questions you have. She took great care of my puppy and I can tell he's somewhat trained as he doesnt have nearly as many accidents as a puppy should. She made pick up a breeze and provided helpful tips and tricks for taking care of your basset. The care doesn't stop after you pick your puppy up, she is open to helping you out afterwards and has followed up with me on her own as well as answered a few questions I had after I picked my puppy up. I would highly recommend working with Shauna if possible.

    Shauna was absolutely amazing to work with! She responded to my inquiry very quickly and answered all my questions as I had a lot of them!!
