Meet the breeder

I'm Meagan J., the breeder behind Sheepcote Farm Catahoula’s located in Danielsville, GA. Our puppies are immersed in everyday family life, surrounded by kids, livestock, people, dogs & a cat. They receive Bio Sensor (ENS) training, early come/sit/stay training, and exposure to farm activity, new sounds, and controlled gunfire.

Why did you start breeding?
We didn’t set out to become breeders! Breeding came naturally as a way to share a breed we love while giving our children meaningful responsibility and experience. Our dogs are first and foremost our family dogs, and we wanted our children to experience the joy, work, patience, and responsibility that comes with raising a litter. We’re not looking to become a kennel—we simply want to thoughtfully raise an occasional litter from dogs we love and believe in.
What makes your program special?
Our program is rooted in purpose, not volume. We breed dogs we know intimately—watching their temperaments, abilities, and relationships within our family before ever raising a litter. Every puppy is given individual attention and raised with intention, with an emphasis on confidence, adaptability, and a strong foundation for whatever life comes next.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include blue merle and blue. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Meagan

Meagan has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Meagan partners with them to find the best puppy match.

“We believe the right puppy is about more than looks. Unless a family has their heart set on a specific puppy or is looking for particular markings, we’ll help match each family with a puppy based on individual personality, temperament, and lifestyle. Our goal is to create the best possible fit for both the puppy and their new family.”

Price

Puppy prices include a $300 non-refundable deposit and between $900 - $1,200 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“Puppies will go home with their first round of vaccines, regular deworming, dewclaws removed, NALC registration, early socialization, and a foundation in basic commands such as come, sit, and stay.”

Contract & health guarantee

Meagan may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. If Meagan offers a contract or guarantee, the details will be personalized by them. If you have any questions or want to know more, don't hesitate to reach out to Meagan directly.
