I'm Ann Marie S., the breeder behind Shirokuma Samoyeds located in White House, TN. Our high-quality puppies are the result of extensive research and thorough care for our outstanding dogs and puppies. The foundation of our breeding program starts with raising healthy and well-loved dogs. We aim to pass the same happiness of owning a quality-bred dog to our buyers.
Q. & A. with Ann Marie
Why did you start breeding?
I was looking for a male companion and the breeder asked me if I would be interested in showing. Being curious we discussed this for over an hour and here I am 13 years later, mostly female dogs and showing them all over the country. I’m blessed that the breeder asked me if I would be interested in showing because I don’t think I can even imagine my life without a Samoyeds and showing. I have met so many wonderful friends from all over the world.
What makes your program special?
My girls all have their CHICS. I really look at what is a good male pedigree before breeding. One time it took me over a year to find what I was liking for. I raise the puppies in my home. I lay next to whelping box until they are 4 weeks old. I’m not just a breeder after you purchase a puppy then you’re a friend. I am a Breeder of Merit on AKC Marketplace and have my own website at shirokumasams.com.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies are white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
