I'm Vanessa S., the breeder behind Shoen Saint Bernards located in Milroy, MN. Our mission is to breed the very best dogs that we can, to raise them with love, and to select their future homes with careful attention. Our puppies are raised with our family & our children. All puppies have been well socialized since day 1. We start potty training the puppies around 4 weeks old.

    We provide lifetime support to all of our puppies and their families. All of our Saints are sound in temperament and live with children. Temperament is 100% important to us. We also use the Puppy Culture program to raise our puppies to be calm enrichment seekers, ready to take on life’s challenges with love and joy to spare.

Getting a puppy from Vanessa

Vanessa has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Vanessa partners with them to find the best puppy match.

Puppy prices include a $535 non-refundable deposit and between $2,665 - $3,740 final payment, before taxes & fees.

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Elbow Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered)

    Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.

  • DNA Disease Panel

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

    I got my beautiful Saint Bernard, Zeus, from Vanessa with Shoen Saint Bernards in the April 2026 Ella x Elvis litter. It was an exceptional experience working with Vanessa - She was very responsive and informative. She kept us updated on Ella’s pregnancy and due date. When the puppies were born, we were able to pick at 2 weeks, and from there she gave me weekly updates on Zeus. She takes excellent care of the puppies, and she starts potty training and basics training with them early on. When I got Zeus at 10 weeks, he could already be walked on a leash, listen to the command “sit,” and sleep through the night. He has a sweet, playful temperament, and you can tell he’s been loved and supported since birth. Vanessa’s been so helpful through every step of the way, including drop off and adjustment to new life. I’m so grateful for this dream come true, and I can’t imagine working with any other Saint breeder!
