I'm Kari M., the breeder behind Shoreline Shilohs located in Montezuma, IA. Our dogs have all age-appropriate testing complete to help ensure healthy puppies. Our main focus is on temperament with health and conformation as close as possible to the breed standard. We strive for healthy and happy puppies and adults.

Why did you start breeding?
I was interested in breeding dogs for potential service work. I discovered the Shiloh Shepherd and wanted to help the breed grow and continuously improve.What makes your program special?
All of our breeding dogs go through extensive health testing. While conformation is important to us as well, we really want to focus on creating Shilohs that have amazing temperaments. Our goal is to breed with the breed standard in mind with a focus on how to provide the best Shilohs we can.Where do your breeding dogs live?

Getting a puppy from Kari
Kari has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.
Kari partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 7 weeks old.
“Litter evaluations are performed by a third party between 7 and 8 weeks of age. Pups are matched to their prospective homes based on info gathered during the evaluation.”
Price
“This pricing reflects pet vs breed quality. All pups will have regular deworming, a microchip, and come with their first set of vaccinations. Deposits are refundable if the litter does not produce the pup we feel is a good match for you or you have a specific preference for male/female or coat color. Deposit is not refundable if you “change your mind” or buy from another breeder instead.”

This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. Litter update on 14 Aug •…And then there was ONE… ❤️ Red Girl! ❤️ This 10 week old sweet girl is our last available puppy from the Mizzen × Thomas litter, and she is such a fun combination of sweet, social, curious, and just a little bit of spice. Red Girl is incredibly friendly and genuinely enjoys people. She likes to investigate what is going on around her and, while she may take a little bit to feel things out in a brand-new situation, once she is comfortable, the spitfire comes out! She becomes playful, animated, confident, and ready to be right in the middle of everything. She responds really nicely to praise, treats, and encouragement, and she has that happy, enthusiastic personality that makes her a lot of fun to interact with. She is the type of girl who may initially say, “Let me check this out first,” and then shortly afterward decide, “Okay, I’ve got this—what are we doing next?” Her tail is almost always going, and she has a very friendly, engaging nature. Red does a slight abnormality involving the shape of her chest/rib cage. This is not expected to interfere with her normal daily life or life expectancy, but of course we are happy to discuss it in more detail with anyone seriously interested in her. She is looking for a family who will appreciate a girl who is sweet and affectionate, but definitely has some personality and sass! ❤️ Located 1 hour east of Des Moines, IA. We have a fantastic ground transport company to help with transport!

Litter update on 11 Aug •…We still have 2 floofs looking for their perfect home. Gray boy is HUGE! He’s like a fluffy little bear lol. Red girl is the smallest of her litter but makes up for it in personality! She’s game for most about any adventure! Reach out if you have questions on either of these loves 🩷💙

Litter update on 04 Aug •…Meet the remaining 3! These puppies are ready for their new homes and are located near Des Moines IA Gray Collar Boy Gray is a sweet, people-oriented boy who naturally seeks out attention and enjoys being close to his family. He has a nice balance of confidence and sensitivity and is very responsive to praise, treats, and gentle guidance. He can be visually observant and may occasionally need help shifting his attention, but he is affectionate, thoughtful, and eager to connect with his people. He would do best with a patient family that enjoys building a close relationship through positive training. Gray does have a small bite alignment issue that will be addressed before he goes home. Brown Collar Boy Brown is an exceptionally friendly, affectionate boy who loves praise, attention, and spending time with people. He has a moderate energy level, balanced arousal, and a naturally social personality. He enjoys interacting with his person and has a fun “tell me I’m handsome” kind of confidence. He may need some support when working through new environments, but overall he is a happy, loving boy who should make a wonderful companion. Brown also has a small bite alignment issue that will be addressed before he goes home. Red Collar Girl Red is a wonderfully sweet and friendly girl with a curious, outgoing personality. She enjoys meeting new people, exploring her surroundings, and engaging with whatever is happening around her. She may need a little encouragement when introduced to something unfamiliar, but she responds beautifully to praise, treats, and positive reinforcement. She is playful, willing to try, and has a fun, happy personality—her tail rarely stops wagging! Red has a conformation abnormality involving the shape of her chest and rib cage, but it is not expected to cause any problems in her everyday life.

Litter update on 17 July •…The crew has turned 6 weeks old! Look at these little guys taking on the world, one teeter totter at a time! Exposure to different surfaces can help build confidence and encourage exploration. The world isn’t such a scary place 🌎 They are enjoying exploring more of the yard, annoying each other, and finding out what will fit in their mouths 😂 Mama Mizzen is starting to gently tell them their little teeth are not fun. They are doing well transitioning to the kibble they will go home on. These 6 weeks have flown by! I will enjoy the puppy cuddles and kisses for another couple weeks. Then they will be off on their new adventures with their families 💕 We still have a couple openings left for these babies.

Litter update on 11 July •…5 weeks old! These guys are so fun to watch! Their personalities are starting to come out- we’ve got some cuddly ones, an adventurous one, and one that hasn’t quite figured out if he likes to cuddle or just chill on his own. I can’t wait to see them grow up 🩷💙

Litter update on 04 July •…Happy July 4th! These little ones are on the move! All are boys except Red. The pup without the collar and different background is Black collar

Litter update on 26 June •…The Mizzen/Thomas babies turned 3 weeks old. They are starting to walk around a bit better without stumbling, eyes are open, ears are open, and they have discovered puppy gruel and soft toys. Aunt Minnow was more than happy to help with cleanup after our intro to food that doesn’t come from mom.

Excellent level
Shoreline Shilohs reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Shiloh Shepherds.
Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
