I'm Leslie B., the breeder behind Signatures GSD’s located in Valley City, OH. I'm a home-based breeder of quality German Shepherds with a focus on health and pedigree. I am dedicated to continuing my phenomenal bloodlines in an effort to provide other families with loving, healthy, and happy puppies. My priority is to ensure the health and well-being of all my dogs from birth until they leave with their forever family and beyond. I look forward to connecting with you!

Why did you start breeding?
I wanted to do my part to better the breed. My breeding program strives to maintain the unique characteristics of the German Shepherd while placing an emphasis on producing puppies of superior health, temperament, and conformation. It is also important to me that I am continuing only clean, healthy bloodlines to ensure the future well-being of the German Shepherd for generations to come.What makes your program special?
Signatures GSD's is a premier breeder of German Shepherd dogs. We have decades of experience with the breed and are breeders of Merit through the AKC. We were awarded Breeder of the Year in 2007 by the GSDCA. Our mission is to improve the breed and ensure its future for generations to come. All of our puppies are raised in our home environment rather than a kennel. We ensure they are well-socialized and over-loved to grow up to be confident and healthy. Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Temperament Test
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
