Meet the breeder

I'm Denise H., the breeder behind Silkie Doodles located in Cameron Park, CA. Our biggest role is to raise puppies from the healthiest parent dogs, socialize the puppies, help them develop confidence and create a strong bond to humans. We anticipate a litter of puppies the week of February 20-27. The puppies will be weaned and ready for your home sometime around April 15-22.

Q. & A. with Denise

  • Why did you start breeding?

Breeding began as a family adventure. There is considerable time, effort, precision and expense that goes into breeding and raising puppies with excellence. Both of our dog parents have been DNA tested, and have passed every OFA testing (hips, eyes, elbows, heart and patella) recommended for their breeds. The puppies will be faithfully cared for in our home to help them develop a strong bond to humans. We utilize their parents to help the puppies begin basic training around 3-4 weeks. This includes potty training, introduction to crate, introduction to leash and basic commands like “sit”, “here”, and “stay”. We will provide each puppy ample opportunity to socialize with other animals, various humans of all ages/shapes/voices as well as introduce the puppies to various sounds/sights/textures and play equipment to help build their confidence.
  • What makes your program special?

We provide the following services for your puppy: -Safe, Healthy and educated care which begins with the parent dogs -First vaccine for puppy -Vet check and complete health approval for each puppy -Puppy welcome home kit includes: bag of puppy starter food, magnet with important dates and reminders for puppy, small blanket with moms scent to help them get adjusted in their new home. We take great delight in helping to match puppies and their personalities with the specific needs and desires of your home. We have developed great relationships with various local puppy trainers.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our puppies are standard size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include cream and apricot. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
