Meet the breeder

I'm Darci, the breeder behind Silver Knight Shepherds located in Walla Walla, WA. We strive to breed and continue to improve the traits and characteristics originally produced in the traditional standard of the German Shepherd. Our shepherds are bred and selected to be well socialized, even-tempered, healthy, and be protective, loyal family companions. We are committed in always improving the German Shepherd breed through careful selection, health testing, and aiming to produce the highest quality shepherd, making them the most noble family companions. This breed is meant to be athletic and agile, not oversized or cumbersome. We focus on good health in our stock, which means all our dogs are OFA hip and elbow certified, and DM tested clear or no effects. They remain our constant companions and loyal friends.

Q. & A. with Darci

  • Why did you start breeding?

I have owned German Shepherds all my life. I always knew I wanted to share this fascinating breed with others. Our family began the hobby of breeding long coat German Shepherds back in the early 90s. That's when my love and deep passion for the breed began.
  • What makes your program special?

I believe in improving the German Shepherd breed as a whole. I want to provide families with healthy, loving, stout Shepherds. Our dogs come from a long pedigree of West German Show line Shepherds. They have been bred for protection, show, service, work, and of course, excellent family companions.
  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Our puppies have long coats. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include black and black and red. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and a kennel on my property.
