I'm Morgan J., the breeder behind Silverthorne Boerboels located in Navasota, TX. Our dogs are beloved members of our family, and each litter is carefully bred with betterment, health, temperament, athletic soundness, and structure in mind always. With our boerboels, good temperaments are a must, they are good with children and be intelligent and easy to train and live with.

Why did you start breeding?
When my husband and I got married, we raised exotic deer and sheep. We needed livestock guardians and began our journey in Anatolian shepherds. It was a passion that grew, and as our farm and family grew, we wanted good personal family and home protectors and got into boerboels. Morgan showed the first best in show boerboels in the USA in AKC, and became a parent club judges mentor for AKC.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include reddish brown, red, brown, cream, brindle, and fawn. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

“All of the puppies are the same price regardless if they are show or family pets. We temperament test, do conformation evaluations and give you choices for puppy picks. We do almost daily pup videos.”

About Eden
Eden is an exceptional companion and protector for my family and farm. She finished her AKC championship around a year old and is full of joy and very loyal to her family. Eden is AKC and Sabbs appraised and registered, she is OFA cardiac, hips, elbows, and Wisdom dna tested. We have health testing data on several generations behind the puppies, many were/are very successful AKC show winners or Sabbs studbook appraised dogs. Eden is endlessly loving to her people and she enjoys the car, travel with her family, and is a big snuggler. She is protective of what she considers her people and animals. She is an incredible mother, constantly attending her pups and bringing all the toys in the house to their whelping box so they can snuggle with them. Eden adores toys and has had a stuffed pigeon and octopus since she was a young pup. Her loyalty and adoration can be seen in everything she does. Eden is a leader, but everything she does is in devotion to her people.

About Anthem
Anthem is a Sabbs Studbook registered boerboel who finished his AKC champion in only two shows with 5 point major wins as a puppy over adult boerboels. He has won multiple puppy best in shows. Temperament wise he is wonderful and beloved companion who loves his family and loves pets and snuggles. He is a fun loving boy with a bubbly sense of humor and likes to spin and dance when he is excited and happy. He has good decision making and knows when to be friendly and when to be protective. Anthem loves kids and gets along with other dogs and both males and females. He does many sports, from lure coursing, to dock diving (he loves water), to barn hunt and tracking.

Tobie is a female Boerboel. Carefully selected as a great representative of her breed, Morgan decided to make her part of their program. Morgan has passed Good Dog’s screening process, which involved a review of their breeding practices, environment, and the mental and physical health of their dogs.

Hip Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered), Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered), Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Examination (rDVM, not registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
