I'm Mariela R., the breeder behind Silvr Galaxy Weimaraners located in Alexandria, VA. My dogs are bred for health and temperament with a focus on conformation and performance. My foundation female is an import from Europe, very trainable and with preserved hunting instincts.
I strive to better the breed and carefully select dogs for my breeding program using proven lines only. I look forward to meeting you!
Q. & A. with Mariela
Why did you start breeding?
I quickly fall in love with the personality and goofy nature of the Weimaraner. They are very entertaining, smart, and affectionate dogs. I decided to start a program to preserve the qualities I found in my dog.
It is important to me that I not only preserve my own bloodline but that I improve this breed with each litter and ensure the well-being of these dogs for generations to come!
What makes your program special?
With such a breed that is so versatile, my aim is to preserve as much as possible. Conformation, rally, obedience, and hunting are one of the main things I'm concentrated on after health and temperament.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Mariela was a person that kept in touch and updated on how our puppy was doing. She took special care of him since he was the runt of the litter and needed additional care. We are so grateful that the Good Dod organization connected us with Mariela and our puppy Little Peanut.

We came across Silvr Galaxy Weimaraners through Weimaraner Club of America. I specifically look for breeders in the club to ensure they follow their ethical standards with breeding. Mariela has been wonderful! It’s been a year since we adopted our lil man Brody, and she’s been a wealth of knowledge and support. I highly recommend Silvr Galaxy Weimaraners!

Mariela was amazing to work with throughout the entire process of bringing home our forever pal. She’s not only super responsive, but helpful with any questions (and patient with all the ones we had), consultative, upfront, and an all around pleasure. After we lost our senior Weim, we were devastated, took our time researching, and once we saw Boy Purple aka Louis from Silvr Galaxy Weimaraners, we knew he was the one. Mariela takes such amazing care of her dogs, has so much love for them, and it shows. Louie has brought us happiness, he’s our perfect boy. Cannot recommend enough. Thank you for the wonderful experience, hopefully, for those who read this will soon experience the joy/fulfillment we have everyday because of SGW!

It went really well with Mariela from Silvr Galaxy Weimaraners! We found her on Good Dog and put in an interest for a male puppy from the 2021 litter. She was incredibly responsive, and her process was very simple and straightforward. Mariela took the time to interview us, showing how much she cares about the dogs and puppies, and she shared a lot of useful information for first-time Weimaraner owners, which was really helpful.
We picked up our puppy, Blue, in March 2021 when he was 8 weeks old. Now, nearly three years later, Blue has been fantastic—he’s healthy and has brought so much joy to our lives. Mariela also took care of all the paperwork, including the AKC certificate, and made sure Blue got his first few shots within the first 8 weeks. Even after the adoption, Mariela kept in touch regularly, checking on Blue, asking for pictures, and continuing to offer support to ensure we give him the best home possible. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience!
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
