I'm Shonnie L., the breeder behind Sinnsro Leonbergers located in Clearwater County, ID. I am dedicated to the health and overall improvement of this spectacular breed. I only breed when I want to add to my line or if I have a specific breeding I want to improve my lines. My puppy buyers are like family and I want to make the transition from my loving home to yours as seamless as possible by giving personal attention to each little pup to ensure it is well-rounded and prepared to excel in its forever home. I am happy to tell you more about what life with a Leonberger is like and how they will not only enhance your daily life, but exceed your expectations! My puppy placement process is extensive, I have my own application, phone interview, references and home check. It is imperative that I place my puppies in the right homes, my puppy people become a part of my family.   • Why did you start breeding?

    Purposeful and ethical breeding is so important for the healthy progression of the Leonberger. I am devoted to preserving this incredible breed so that it can continue to be enjoyed for generations more to come! I focus on great health, amazing temperament, and exceptional structure within my program. On top of my own personal research, I have also been very fortunate to work with an incredible mentor along the way!
  • What makes your program special?

    I am a selective breeder of exceptional bloodlines and quality Leonberger puppies. I have planned out my lines for several years prior to breeding. In addition, Sinnsro Leonbergers have been carefully selected, with dogs imported from around the world, to guarantee their accomplished pedigree. My beautiful pups are sure to make loving companions for your family for many years to come!
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies are reddish brown. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Shonnie

Shonnie has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.

Together, you’ll choose the puppy that’s right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.

Price

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and between $4,000 - $4,500 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“Puppies will be registered with AKC with a limited registration or a co ownership. Microchips will be included in the price as well a vet check that includes first round of vaccines and worming if needed. Puppies are Extensively socialized and raised with Puooy Cukture and Advid Dog puooy protocols. All puppies are Evaluated by two outside evaluators for confirmation and temperament before final placement. 1/1/23 $75 application fee will be charged for all applications. If your answers on the GoodDog questions move you forward I will ask for $75.00 to send the full application. This is non refundable. If we move forward with a puppy the price wills go towards your down payment. I will ask for a deposit once the litter is confirmed and you have completed all the steps to be an approved puppy owners: If there is to be any consideration of refund due to me not having a puppy available it will be at my complete discretion and $75.00 will be kept as an application fee: My deposits are non refundable.”

  • Hip Dysplasia

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)

    Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.

  • Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)

    Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

  • Thyroid (Autoimmune Thyroiditis, registered with OFA), Brucellosis, Polyneuropathy 3, Leonberger and Saint Bernard Type

    A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.

  • Leukoencephalomyelopathy (LEMP), Polyneuropathy 2, Leonberger and Saint Bernard Type, Polyneuropathy 1, Leonberger and Saint Bernard Type

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
