Meet the breeder

I'm Laura S., the breeder behind Skaggs Shepherds located in Bonne Terre, MO. We are a family-owned operation that breeds DDR/Czech German Shepherds to help continue this awesome breed. Please go to our website and read the important links. Gives information about the breed and hopefully will answer any and all questions you may have. All adults are Pen.

Q. & A. with Laura

  • Why did you start breeding?

I have had to retire from my normal job and was looking into breeding when my breeder said she would help me make it work. She has been a huge help, plus the woman who has trained a couple of my dogs is a breeder who steers me in the correct directions also.
  • What makes your program special?

The care we put into our pets, which we expend to our puppies. I’m a stay at home person who doesn’t leave much. As technology goes, we have a camera set up in all rooms and pens
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include sable and black. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and a kennel on my property.
