Meet the breeder

I'm Bridgett F., the breeder behind Sleeping Bear Kennels located in Kalamazoo, MI. With a background in dog training, our motto is Health, Quality, and Temperament. Ethical breeding is at the forefront of what we do. Socialization is key, and being selective of our parent dogs is extremely important to us, so we are producing not only “cute” but healthy and stable adult dogs.

Q. & A. with Bridgett

  • Why did you start breeding?

I started in the dog world as a dog trainer, but soon realized that dogs were being bred for looks and not temperament. I saw so many dogs with poor temperaments from poor breeding.
  • What makes your program special?

We breed for temperament in hopes that some puppies will continue on into service dogs, emotional support animals, or therapy dogs.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our Cavapoo puppies are miniature size. Poodle puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our Cavapoo puppies include blenheim, apricot, and red. Poodle puppies include apricot, red, and parti. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
