Ola is the most picture perfect representation of a Berner. She is 100% a Velcro dog, if you are doing it so is she. She is so talented, she sits, lays down, rolls over, shakes (loves shaking) and maintains perfect confirmation at the same time! She has had her OFAs done and also been genetic tested as well!

Petrov is a charmer. He is so so so handsome (but I may be biased), he was imported from Russia long long ago, and was such a special breeder that we actually had him collected and pelletized so he could be used for offspring for years to come. He passed all testing with flying colors, OFA- Elbows- BMD-EL13235M29-PI, Hips- BMD-22749E29M-PI, VWD1 test 59338 clear, SOD1A- 59338 clear, SOD1B-59338 clear

Felicia is a gentle natured giant, who came to us all the way from Hungary. She takes confirmation to a whole new level, but carries her sweet charm as she does it. Felicia has passed her OFAs- Elbow BMD-EL13863F35-PI, and Hips BMD-23448G35F-PI, she also has been fully genetic tested for DM, SOD1B, and VWD1

About Isla
Isla is an American bred berner, not an import like most of the others in our program. She has lineage tying her to High Country Kennel out of Colorado. Isla has been great for our program and produced many healthy puppies that have never came back to us with issues. If there is one thing she’s good at, it’s shaking. I’m pretty sure she’s never not greeted a person without a firm shake!

Credo is the best Male we have ever had, with lines going back to Balihara Ranch in Slovakia, Credo is backed by countless OFAs and tons of genetic testing, making him the perfect male. He is also a sweetheart, and produces the nicest stocky and blocky pups!
Parent health testing

Smith Farms and Kennels reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Bernese Mountain Dogs.
Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Vet Wellness Exam
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.

Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
