I'm Miriam T., the breeder behind Soundtrack Basset Hounds located in Eastford, CT. We believe in the versatile Basset Hound. Not only are they great companions, but our dogs also compete in conformation, obedience, rally, agility, field trials, hunt tests, and scent work. We are very proud of the success of our dogs in all of these venues. We believe that the traits which make a great competition dog, including breed type, soundness, temperament, and health, are also what is needed for a dog to be a great pet.

Why did you start breeding?
My family got our first Basset Hound when I was a teenager, from a relative who didn't want him any more. When we attended our first dog show, we thought that our dog was as good as any of the ones in the ring, so we decided to try showing. Fortunately, it turned out that he had come from a well-known show breeder and did have what it took to become a Champion. I also became involved in obedience, because my dog seriously needed training! From that point on I was hooked on Basset Hounds and showing, and had a desire to produce my own Champions. Since then we've branched out into other activities as well.What makes your program special?
I genuinely cherish Basset Hounds and am committed to looking out for the breed as a whole. I know the health and status of every dog I have bred and am proud of the temperament, conformation, hunting Instinct and beauty of my quality puppies.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
