Melanie has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.
Melanie partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 6 weeks old.
“We match our puppies on a specific selection date, once they are at least 6 weeks old. Basset Hound puppies change tremendously during their first several weeks, so we prefer to give them time to develop before posting individual photos or making selections. By this age, we can better evaluate each puppy’s conformation, structure, markings, wrinkles, ear length, and overall Basset type, giving families a much more accurate picture of the puppy they are choosing”

Melanie may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. If Melanie offers a contract or guarantee, the details will be personalized by them. If you have any questions or want to know more, don't hesitate to reach out to Melanie directly.
When you pay and communicate on Good Dog, you’re covered by Payment Protection.
You can drive or fly to pick up your puppy from Melanie.

Moose and Cora's litter
Basset Hound
About Moose
Moose is a gentle natured boy with a boisterous personality. Moose comes from a breeder in Brazil who excels in producing beautiful bassets, with an eye for conformation and qualities you see in the show ring. Moose loves to run and play "tag" with the puppies. Another favorite pastime of his is howling along to a good song. He is also a fan of long naps and belly rubs.
Basset Hound
About Mabel
Mabel is a European basset hound with an amazing personality. She is calm, loving and an excellent mama dog. She loves her babies. She loves everyone else's babies as well! Whenever we have a new litter of puppies, you can be sure Mabel is close by in case the new mama needs any help cleaning her babies or even nursing them.
Basset Hound
About Cora
Cora is a dark tri-colored European basset. She is the calmest dog I have. For a basset, that is saying something! That doesn't mean she isn't playful. If you get out a squeaky toy or throw a knotted sock for her, she is ready for play. But if you are down for a relaxing day on the up couch lounging, she is your go to girl! She will snuggle with you for a movie marathon until your ready to get up.
Good level

Vet Wellness Exam
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
DNA Disease Panel
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
