I'm Cindy G., the breeder behind South Star located in Gilmer, TX. My dogs are bred for health, beauty, and brains. Temperament is paramount for me as many of my puppies. While a few dogs go to performance homes, many go to pet homes and I want to make sure each owner has the best pet possible.
Q. & A. with Cindy
Why did you start breeding?
I began breeding back in the late '80s. I had a bitch at that time who was outstanding in the obedience ring and did okay in confirmation. My goal was to produce a dog that could master both rings.
What makes your program special?
My goal has always been to produce the best of both worlds - working and conformation. My dogs live and are bred in-home. Puppies experience human bonding from day one and receive many experiences as they grow. All puppies are temperament tested at 7 weeks and new owners are given the results and suggestions as it relates to raising them.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
