Meet the breeder

I'm Katie H., the breeder behind Southern Creek (Vom Südbach) German Shepherds located in Winterville, NC. We are a small breeding program with an average of one litter every 1-2 years. We health test our dogs, as a healthy dog is our priority. We import many of our breeding dogs from well-known, prestigious kennels overseas. We take pride in our program and keep up with all puppies that leave us.

Q. & A. with Katie

  • Why did you start breeding?

My husband and I fell in love with the breed when we got our first working line male 12 years ago. We researched breeding endlessly before embarking on this journey of becoming a reputable breeder. We now mentor many other breeders throughout the US and love to educate others on this incredible breed. We strive to produce healthy dogs with stable temperaments.
  • What makes your program special?

At Südbach German Shepherds, we value health testing and temperament. Our adults and puppies are frequently complimented on their deep red pigment, regal look, and incredible temperaments. They are the ideal family companions, both loyal and protective. Our puppies are great with children and adaptable to new environments. We have puppies throughout the US now, from Oregon to Texas to coastal NC.
  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Our puppies include stock and long coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include sable, black, and black and red. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
