I'm Liz S., the breeder behind Southern Giants located in Apple Valley, CA. Southern Giant's is a dedicated Saint Bernard kennel, and lifelong advocate for the breed. We have a deep understanding of canine temperament and genetics, and are committed to breeding Saint Bernards that combine correct breed type and structure with sound temperaments, health, and longevity.

Why did you start breeding?
My passion for Saint Bernards began through my love of the breed, As I became more involved in competing with Saint Bernards, I found myself falling even more in love with the breed—not only for their impressive size and beautiful appearance, but for their unique temperament, intelligence, loyalty, and the many qualities that make them truly special.What makes your program special?
For Liz, breeding is not simply about producing puppies. It is about preserving a breed she deeply loves, understanding what each generation can contribute, and continually striving to improve. Her goal is to produce Saint Bernards that are beautiful representatives of their breed while also being healthy, sound, intelligent, stable, and cherished family companions.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include red and white, brown and white, and mahogany and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and guardian homes.

Liz has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

“Our puppy prices include both limited and full AKC registration, up to date vet care and life time breeder support! From show dogs to beloved family pets. Puppy deposits are meant to hold your puppy until 8 weeks of age, (at that time payment must be made in full)They are non refundable once sent you have made a commitment to bringing home your puppy.”

About Violet
Violet is as sweet as they come! She is one of those dogs who never met a stranger and is very dedicated to making sure her dad never spends a moment alone! Violet is a beautiful rough coat (long haired) female with amazing structure and temperament.
Parent health testing
Great level

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Examination (rDVM, not registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (rDVM, not registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Temperament Test
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
DNA Disease Panel, Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
