I'm Jamie W., the breeder behind Southern Rose Bassets located in Temple, TX. Our love for our dogs pushed us to begin breeding. We love to see the results of our efforts in the sweet, happy, and healthy puppies that we’re able to share with others. We are located in the beautiful State of Texas. Our adults bassets are health tested, up to date with shots, and AKC registered.

Why did you start breeding?
I was raised around dogs all my life, I have always had a love for animals. I take pride in raising our bassets as my babies, along with my children and 3 cats. I’ve always been interested in breeding and raising dogs. After I lost my job, I was able to make this dream come true and be home 24/7 so I can play with, feed, lots of cuddles, and give them all the attention they need.What makes your program special?
I’m sure like other breeders, it’s a love for animals. I’m passionate to be the best I can be as a new breeder and give the love of my bassets to other pet lovers. We love these puppies from the moment they are born until they go to their new home.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies are black brown and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

"The price includes the guarantee, AKC registration, first round of vaccination and deworming, and puppy socialization. At this time, I am not giving breeding rights from this litter. All puppies are the same price regardless of color or markings."

Primary Open Angle Glaucoma (ADAMST10 Exon 17), Thrombopathia, Basset Hound Type, Severe Combined Immunodeficiency Disease, X-Linked, Basset Hound Type (XSCID), Lafora Disease (LD)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

Outstanding experience from day 1. Jamie kept updating us about not only our pup, but the entire litter and the parents. Photos and videos were amazing. Our pickup process was super easy, met Hank and Dolly, the parents and spent a little time with them. Jamie had a folder with all paperwork, CHIP information, bag with blanket, etc. You could really tell that Jamie and her family are true care givers and love their fur babies.
