Meet the breeder

I'm Dayna P., the breeder behind SouthernStar Kennels located in Reddick, FL. SouthernStar Kennels is a small family-owned and operated Alaskan Malamute breeding facility located in the Horse Capital of the World, AKC, sunny Marion County, Florida. We only breed select litters using carefully selected, top-quality breeding pairs, and focus on producing quality.

Q. & A. with Dayna

  • Why did you start breeding?

We are not able to upload our entire questionnaire into GoodDog. The generic questionnaire here is not the one we can use to approve or deny you. You can fill this one out but you must visit our website and fill our our Buyer Questionnaire on our Forms page. You can either scan it and email bqck to us or contact us for our mailing address.
  • What makes your program special?

First, we have comprehensive health screenings. Every breeding dog receives Hip, Elbow, and Patella Certifications, yearly Eye Certifications, and basic Cardiac Certifications. All dogs also get a 200+ condition genetic screening that includes the color genotype panel. Our puppies go home with one of the most comprehensive warranties out there.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include silver and white, seal and white, sable and white, red and white, gray and white, black and white, agouti and white, and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
