I'm Meredith W., the breeder behind Southpaw Weimaraners located in Roanoke, VA. We seek to consistently produce dogs with a correct temperament for a working Weimaraner. We breed for the conformation required for endurance and performance in the field. Our dogs are stable, healthy, sound companions bred with active families and hunters in mind.
Q. & A. with Meredith
Why did you start breeding?
We have been involved in Weimaraners since 2002 with the purchase of our first dog, Maya. While my original intent was only for a long distance running partner, Maya was a perfect dog to introduce me to the breed.
What makes your program special?
We place great emphasis on desire to work for us, intelligence, nose and how they use it, natural gait and athleticism, and style on birds. Weimaraners should never be hyper or have drives that are out of balance.
What are the different breed coat types in your program?
Our puppies have smooth coats. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies are gray. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
