I'm Danielle S., the breeder behind Spitze German Shepherds located in New York. We breed to preserve the unique characteristics of the GSD while considering a variety of traits, including health, conformation, and temperament. We emphasize the socialization and training of our puppies. All parents are temperament tested and health tested.

Why did you start breeding?
The military moved us to Germany where I fell in love with the breed. Made connections with breeders personally. Within a year of getting back to the US I decided that quality of Gsd should be available to everyone here in the USA.What makes your program special?
We do not believe in kennel dogs. All dogs live in our home with us. All puppies are hand raised and touched and socialized from the day they are born till the day they go home. All our adults are temperament tested and health tested prior to breeding. We will guarantee and always buy back our puppies.What are the different breed coat types in your program?
Our puppies include stock, plush, and long coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Getting a puppy from Danielle
Danielle has been certified by Good Dog's screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you're ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.
Danielle partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 6 weeks old.

"AKC REG. 2 year health guarantee. 1-2 rounds of shots. Dewormed. Puppy pack. Volhard Temperament test by trainer included at 7 weeks. Price depends on pedigree. Deposit is always 500 nonrefundable. Transferable to other litters."

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Temperament Test
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
DNA Disease Panel, Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
