I'm Julia G., the breeder behind Starfire Leonbergers and Spinone Italiano located in Florida. We built our program with care and intention in every step. We are passionate about the health and well-being of our breeds, and it is our goal to provide each dog that comes from our program with a solid foundation of good health, neurological development, and loving care.
Q. & A. with Julia
Why did you start breeding?
Always having been an animal lover/person, after having Leonbergers for 9 years I wanted to help share this wonderful breed with other people. When I got my first Spinone it was just natural to share this amazing breed as well. I thoroughly enjoy every aspect of breeding (although not always easy) and love caring and helping to shape these two lovely breeds into well-rounded dogs.
What makes your program special?
As said above, structure, temperament and health are of utmost importance to my breeding program. Adding to that exposure to new things and socialization to make the dogs as well-rounded as possible is the next step. Then there is the matching of the right dog to the right person. All of these are very important pieces to the whole.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
