Meet the breeder

I'm the breeder behind Stay Wild K9 located in Alum Creek, WV. Stay Wild K9 specializes in top-quality working-line German Shepherds and Dutch Shepherds with strong nerves, sound temperaments, and exceptional drive. Focused on producing dogs for police work, sport, and active companions, we prioritize health, working ability, and bond with their handlers.

Q. & A. with Megan

  • Why did you start breeding?

I mentored with a local police K9 handler and trainer, where I had the opportunity to put my knowledge of behavior and training into practice. I was able to determine what type of working dog that I liked and wanted to see in different applications. I also developed a love of raising and starting puppies into working dogs. The next step in my journey was to then produce those types of dogs.
  • What makes your program special?

Stay Wild K9’s breeding program stands out for its focus on health, temperament, and working ability. With over 15 years of experience, we produce working-line German Shepherds & Dutch Shepherds bred for police work, sport, and active lifestyles. We prioritize strong nerves, sound structure, and exceptional drive, ensuring dogs are fit for high performance tasks or able to be active companions.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

First time dog owner here ✨ I would like to thank Megan for being super helpful with this process as it was a little overwhelming at times trying to learn so much, but she is very knowledgeable and made the entire process go very smooth from start to finish! She was quick to respond to any questions I had and made sure I was set for success by the time we picked up our new family member. Shadow is now at his new home doing great and we’re all so excited to have him 🖤 anyone who is looking for a fur baby and would like the process to be as simplified as possible, Stay Wild K9 is your one stop shop! (I’m already thinking about getting a second puppy in the near future; maybe a Dutch Shepherd) 🤫 we already know who to contact 🫣

Getting a puppy from Stay Wild K9 was a great choice. The breeder Megan was an absolute joy to work with. She was very responsive and knowledgeable about the German Shepherd breed. Our boy Mack seems to be fitting in perfectly with our family. Within a weeks time Mack has already learned to sit and lay down. He is smart and eager to train.
