Meet the breeder

I'm ROBERT G., the breeder behind Stoneforged Setters located in Eastpoint, FL. Stoneforged Setters is dedicated to producing exceptional Llewellin Setters for serious hunters and active families. We prioritize health, genetic soundness, trainability, cooperation, and the natural instincts that make outstanding bird dogs.

Q. & A. with ROBERT

  • Why did you start breeding?

I didn't choose the breeder life. The breeder life chose me. Our foundation matron Pretty Penny was well loved by everyone who saw her hunt or compete in field trials and I was told in no uncertain times that that dog needed to be bred to pass on her incredible genetics. So I did the health testing and found a great stud and my kennel was born.
  • What makes your program special?

Our breeding program is built around proven performance, not just pedigrees. We hunt, train, and evaluate our dogs, selecting for natural bird sense, cooperation, endurance, health, and temperament. The result is a Llewellin Setter that excels in the field and fits seamlessly into family life.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include white, orange belton, liver belton, lemon belton, chestnut, blue belton, and blue belton and tan (tri-color). Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and guardian homes.
