I'm Carrie W., the breeder behind Storm Chasers- Golden Retrievers & Basset Hounds located in Clay Center, NE. We love helping people find the perfect new addition to their families and we’re proud of our reputation as reliable breeders of Golden Retrievers. We are excited to be adding some very nice, show prospects in Basset Hounds and look forward to this new adventure.

Why did you start breeding?
I started when I was 9 yrs training, showing, grooming and learning! I competed for years in both conformation and obedience as well as 4-H growing up. Dogs have always stayed an active part of my life that I continued now 30 plus years later with my own children.What makes your program special?
We breed for beauty, brains and bloodlines.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our Golden Retriever puppies include dark golden, golden, and light golden. Basset Hound puppies include red and white, black tan and white, and black brown and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Carrie
Carrie has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.
Together, you’ll choose the puppy that’s right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.
Price
Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and between $1,750 - $3,000 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“Price includes AKC registration, microchip, vaccines, health guarantee, dewormings, vet checked and temperament tested. Non-refundable deposit goes towards final balance.”
Contract & health guarantee
Carrie may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. Litter update on 11 July •…Dirty food faces and all, here’s a quick update with a sneak peak of a couple of Hazel’s pups - babies turned 4 weeks this past Monday. Staying current on dewormings and socializing. They too love their puppy mushy food and snuggle time.

They love their puppy mushy food and love making a mess ! They are starting to take longer breaks from momma too. Next week is vet check week and another dewormer.

Litter update on 01 July •…Hazel’s babies are 3 weeks old today. All are growing beautifully and are starting to walk around steadily on their feet now. They love being snuggled and will start on soft food this week.

Litter update on 01 July •…4 weeks today. Started on mushy food and loving it. Blue collar male loves to squish his face into the food. Received another deworming today and all are growing very nicely. They LOVE to snuggle and wag their little tails when we talk to them.

Animal Genetics Panel, Severe Combined Immunodeficiency Disease, X-Linked, Basset Hound Type (XSCID), Thrombopathia, Basset Hound Type, Craniomandibular Osteopathy (CMO)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

Tater turns 12 weeks old tomorrow. He had his first day of puppy kindergarten yesterday and all the staff were making time to come cuddle him and commenting on how well he is crate and potty trained. Carrie clearly took time socializing the puppies while working on crate training, meeting different people, loving car rides, and gave us a head start on potty training. Carrie’s behavioral assessments were extremely accurate. After discussing my family’s goals for a new family member, Carrie helped us choose the perfect snuggle monster.
