I'm Carol H., the breeder behind Subarktika Samoyeds located in Fairbanks, AK. We are a small kennel with an emphasis in conformation shows, agility, dog sledding and enjoying the dogs as members of our household. I have been involved with the breed for over 40 years and breed very rarely.

Why did you start breeding?
Purchased my show/breeding puppy from a reputable breeder and after she was two and had her health clearances, bred my first litter.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include white and biscuit and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Carol

Carol has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Carol partners with them to find the best puppy match.

“I have potential buyers fill out a questionnaire that tells what they are looking for in a puppy, telling me about their family situation, what other pets they have, what type of activities then intend to do with the puppy such as showing in conformation shows, recognized dog sports such as agility, obedience/rally, barn hunt, fast cat, etc. and less formal activities such as dogsledding, skijoring, hiking etc. Once I know what they want to do with their dog and their family situation, I pick the best puppy from the litter that meets their needs, occasionally having buyers give me input, when selecting between puppies.”

Puppy prices include between $3,000 - $4,000 final payment, before taxes & fees.

About Taiga
Taiga is primarily an household companion, but he has excelled in the show ring, agility and dog sledding. He had had all Samoyed Club of America recommended health testin (hips, eyes, heart and recommended genetic testing RD/OSD, PRA-XL, and enamel hypoplasia.

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Vet Wellness Exam
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
