Meet the breeder

I'm Pamela S., the breeder behind Sugar Babies : The Gentle Doodles located in Traverse City, MI. We are a family-oriented breeding program. Temperament is our main priority. We want our dogs to be calm, gentle, and easy to train! Health testing is mandatory as well. We use Puppy Culture developmental protocols. Puppies do not have to go through nippy, destructive, stubborn stages. We choose adults with a family history of calmness and trainability. All dogs have full testing and are assessed for correct conformation. We love our dogs and what we do, and we look forward to connecting with you!

Q. & A. with Pamela

  • Why did you start breeding?

I started with showing dogs and then I wanted to breed the traits that I found most important, especially calm and trainable temperaments. Lately, I've found that people want Poodle mixes but most of those breeders do not use the same protocols that serious breeders do. I want to help those that want to improve their practices.
  • What makes your program special?

I incorporate the spectrum of things that affect the quality of life for our puppies. Health testing is a must. Knowing the traits of my dog's ancestors helps assure consistency of health, personality, longevity, and function. Using protocol development and early training helps make the transition to new homes smooth. I start my puppies on potty training, crate training, manding, leash training, and obstacles and allow prospective buyers to come to train their puppies before taking them home! I would be honored to connect you with your next beloved, quality puppy!
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our Goldendoodle puppies are standard size. Poodle puppies are standard size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our Goldendoodle puppies include cream, red, and parti. Poodle puppies include blue, red, silver, and parti. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and guardian homes.
