Meet the breeder

I'm Sarah S., the breeder behind SummerMist Keeshond located in Loveland, CO. We take responsible breeding very seriously. Prior to breeding we do all health testing and register with OFA. Temperament is a very important factor in our breeding program. A wonderful, sound Keeshond temperament is essential for any family pet. Our Kees are socialized from an early age.

Q. & A. with Sarah

  • Why did you start breeding?

We are always looking to the future. The next generation of healthy and sound Keeshond. We breed on a limited basis and we usually keep a puppy for future show breeding. The other puppies in the litter become beautiful healthy family pets. Our Keeshond are temperamentally sound and happy go lucky. As breeders we stay involved with our puppy people, always available for and questions or concerns
  • What makes your program special?

We have enjoyed our Keeshond’s and strive to breed only AKC registered, healthy dogs. We do Health clearances, and register with OFA Hips, Elbows, Patella’s, Hearts, Eyes, and Cardiac. All our dogs are PHPT clear. We believe temperament is of utmost importance. We do limited breeding, puppies are raised in our home. They are exposed to all sights, sounds in a home. Puppies are socialized early.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include gray silver and black and black and silver. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
