I'm Ginger B., the breeder behind Szimfónia Pumi Kennel located in Corvallis, OR. I am an AKC Breeder of Merit from Oregon and I breed Pumik and only Pumik. I have been involved with the Pumi breed since 2008. I am active on the Hungarian Pumi Club of America club, holding several board positions including president, Vice President as well as Dogs Gone Dancing (K9 Freestyle Club) and former training Instructor at Wonder Dogs. I actively promote preservation breeding practices and have imported several amazing pumik from Hungary and Sweden. I am also an HPCA mentor for judges ringside at AKC conformation shows.
My dogs are family and they bring so much joy into life. I believe in going above and beyond in socializing my puppies. I also encourage and help my puppy owners get involved in the breed.
Q. & A. with Ginger
Why did you start breeding?
I wanted to breed Pumik that were health tested, happy, and well-rounded. I care deeply about the well-being of my dogs. Another breeder called me 'Progressive" and that felt pretty good... and I am.
What makes your program special?
This litter is part of the ICB Hip Dysplasia Project from day 0-21+. The pups will have 24/7 surveillance for the research team to observe movement. Using traction mats customized for the Pumi. With perfect traction pups walk day 1 putting weight on all leg joints which stimulates the remodeling of bone and cartilage that needs to happen while puppy grows, stabilizing the joints to prevent laxity.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include silver gray and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

I am SO happy I found Ginger on Good Dog. She is very knowledgeable about Pumis and answered all of my questions and concerns. She picked the PERFECT puppy for us, and we could not love our little Ollie more!!!
Ginger went above and beyond when she brought Ollie to us at the Portland airport.... she and her sweet mom arrived with Ollie and a bag of goodies for him. Ginger has continued to be available with any questions we have. We are so lucky to have found the perfect breeder and puppy!!!!
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
