Tanzanite Bernese Mountain Dogs

Sharon M.

Breeder of Bernese Mountain Dogs

Meet the breeder

I'm Sharon M., the breeder behind Tanzanite Bernese Mountain Dogs located in Colorado Springs, CO. Being an AKC Bronze Breeder of Merit demonstrates a commitment to breeding dogs that conform to the breed standard, and also doing the health testing recommended by the parent club, the Bernese Mountain Dog Club of America (BMDCA). Our goal is to have at least 1-2 show potential pups in every litter, with the rest being available as pets. We're confident that our puppies will enrich your life just as much as our dogs have touched ours!

Q. & A. with Sharon

  • Why did you start breeding?

Purposeful and ethical breeding is so important for the healthy preservation of the Bernese Mountain Dog. I was fortunate to get started with the help of a knowledgeable mentor. It has been such a fulfilling journey!
  • What makes your program special?

I am dedicated to producing top quality dogs of sound mind, body and health. This requires extensive knowledge, pedigree research, health testing, and selection. Transparency is also a foundation of my breeding program - especially when it concerns health and possibility of inherited diseases. Prospective puppy parents need to understand the pros and cons of the breed they are considering.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
