Meet the breeder

I'm Kayla R., the breeder behind Texas Rose Basset’s located in Pilot Point, TX. Our female, KD, is 2 years old and expecting her very first litter—the first of only two planned litters. Puppies are expected to arrive during the first week of August. The sire, Augustus (“Gus”), is a handsome 1-year-old, AKC-registered American Basset Hound with a wonderful temperament.

Why did you start breeding?
We got our baby girl KD and fell in love with everything about her, that turned into us finding Gus. The two together are fun and happiness 24.7. This made us want to share that love and experience with others.
What makes your program special?
Our dogs are our family. KD is the first to-be-mother that we have , and she will only carry two litters total. Our next female will also only carry two litters and so on. We want to share these dogs personalities and love.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include red and white and black brown and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Kayla partners with them to find the best puppy match.

Puppy prices include a $500 refundable deposit and between $500 - $2,000 final payment, before taxes & fees.

Vet Wellness Exam
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
DNA Disease Panel
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
