Meet the breeder

I'm Cheryl F., the breeder behind Texas Yorkies and Yorkiepoos located in Bedias, TX. Our dogs are part of our family. Never kenneled. Our litters are born in our family room and become part of the family with daily activities. Puppies are loved on from day one, especially by our grandchildren. We focus on genetics.

Q. & A. with Cheryl

  • Why did you start breeding?

I fell in love with the yorkiepoo breed and wanted to perfect the designer breed. They have such a wonderful temperament, so loving and playful and SMART! We love our yorkies, but our yorkiepoos are amazing!
  • What makes your program special?

We handle babies from day one on a daily basis. Start pad and litter box training at 4 weeks. Interactive toys are littered around our house for them to play, and they are kept together at night in a puppy play are. Not kenneled.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our Yorkipoo puppies include red, cream, black, black and tan, black and gold, and apricot. Yorkshire Terrier puppies include black and gold and black and tan. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Breeder-Reported Testing

Good level

Texas Yorkies and Yorkiepoos reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Yorkipoos.

  • Patellar Luxation

Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.

  • Vet Wellness Exam

A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.

  • DNA Disease Panel

Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
