Meet the breeder

I'm Sandie D., the breeder behind The Basset Family located in Richland Hills, TX. Our basset girls are sisters or cousins. They are family and definitely part of our family. They come from a home where their owners adore them (ok, spoil them).

Q. & A. with Sandie

  • Why did you start breeding?

I have always loved Basset Hounds. I became close friends with my first dog's breeder and then it took off from there.
  • What makes your program special?

We put so much into our dogs to be the best for them. We are always doing research to find the best practices. Of course our dogs are all spoiled to the fullest.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include lemon and white, mahogany and white, and black brown and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
