I'm Gabriella R., the breeder behind The Painted Egg at Copper Barrel Farm located in Pavo, GA. We care about the dogs we breed and do everything in our power to breed sound dogs and ensure healthy, happy puppies. With a focus on companionship and good temperaments. Our Bordoodle puppies/dogs are great family pets, mental health (i.e., emotional support) companions and make the perfect addition to any family. We look forward to connecting you with your new pup!
Q. & A. with Gabriella
Why did you start breeding?
When we introduced our first Border Collie to our farm, we quickly realized how beneficial it was/is to running a farm smoothly. Border Collies are as important to a farm as a tractor. Then we came to the realization that many families are not prepared to handle the activity needs of Border Collies, and decided to shift to breeding Bordoodles to better serve the needs of families looking for a pet
What makes your program special?
Border Collie Breeding Program is currently, not our main focus of dog breeds. We believe the Bordoodle is a breed for most individuals/families. However, we’re a small program and are not in this “business” just for revenue, but to share with other farmers the usefulness of the breed. We realize our Border Collies are breathing, living beings and have hearts and emotions. We take this into consideration to provide the working farmer with quality, not quantity. We have high expectations for our puppies and strive to place each one in an enriching and loving home!
What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Our puppies are standard size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include white and black and black. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

Ivy, mom
Border Collie
About Ivy
Very Maternal: She is a wonderful mother not only to Olivia (3 years old), from her last litter of Bordoodles. But she also protects the weaker animal on the farm that she feels needs protecting. Even today she will stand guard over Olivia from “rough play” or what Ivy might deem as “rough play.”
Pack Leader: Ivy holds the highest position within our pack (i.e., Alpha). She is a force to be reckoned with IF she senses disruption in the pack. This is usually instigated by Bronwyn (Border Collie), and Ivy will take control of the situation; either by running down the culprit, putting said dog on her back and of course growling, nipping (NEVER drawing blood), and then all goes back to playing and loving one another again. I have seen this behavior in our males (male vs male) too, but it’s a bit more out of control.
Respect From All: Even the males are extremely respectful of her, when she is within their midst. They do not mount her, or chase her until she instigates these activities. Meanwhile, she will sit with her back to them or lay down. Again, not until “Milady” gives the go ahead, she will then set the boundaries/rules.

We had the most wonderful experience with Gabriella and a long awaited journey even before our precious Gabbie was born. We have felt a close relationship with her during these 3 plus months and thank her for trusting us to give Gabbie all the love as well as all the love we will give her through many years to come!
