Meet the breeder

I'm Jennifer M., the breeder behind Thunder Keg St. Bernards located in Wellington, CO. We are preservation breeders that offer show quality St. Bernard puppies bred to SBCA's breed standard. I am a founding member and past president of the Rocky Mountain Saint Bernard Club. Our dogs have shown and had success at the biggest venues in the world, including Westminster in New York City and the AKC National Championships in Florida. We have some of just a few St. Bernards that have OFA CHIC certifications with all passing health tests. ALL of our females are fully health tested prior to breeding (hips, elbows, heart, eyes, DM, LPN1). We take pride in our breeding program and truly love our dogs and what we do.

Q. & A. with Jennifer

  • Why did you start breeding?

Years of thought, pedigree research, and planning have gone into my saints at Thunder Keg. I am always striving to create the best Saints that are true to the standard and of excellent health in both body and mind. All of my females here are fully health tested per SBCA recommendations prior to being bred (OFA/PennHip, OFA elbow, OFA heart, OFA eyes, DM, LPN1). We also focus on temperament, which is of utmost importance in a dog this size. Our dogs have multiple titles on both sides of their name proving their adaptability and trainability in a variety of situations.
  • What makes your program special?

Beautiful, yet well-rounded athletic Saints is the aim here at Thunder Keg. I am committed to only breeding dogs that meet the strict guidelines for quality that we have deemed appropriate to improving this wonderful breed. I'm an AKC FDC judge and an AKC CGC/VHM/Trick Dog evaluator and also active in my local club. I utilize my knowledge and experience to always ensure that I am growing and improving my program. I truly love my dogs and want the very best for them and their future families.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
