I'm Lesley B., the breeder behind Timaru Salukis & Anatolians located in Bodega, CA. We have been involved with purebred dogs since 1965. Our goal is to ensure that every puppy we produce is equipped with the necessary skills and genetics to live a long, happy and healthy life and is prepared for its future role when it leaves our care.
Q. & A. with Lesley
Why did you start breeding?
When choosing a dog to live with, I wanted one that was an easy keeper, beautiful to look at, healthy and had an adaptable temperament. I found I could not predictable buy what I wanted, so began studying the art and science of breeding better dogs.
What makes your program special?
We strongly believe that dogs should not only look like what the AKC Standard calls for, but that they should be capable of doing what they were bred to do. In Salukis, that means a dog that is beautiful, competent in the field and a trustworthy companion. In Anatolians, that means a dog that is able to become a trusted guardian, is soundly structured and of reliable temperament.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our Anatolian Shepherd Dog puppies include white, biscuit and white, and fawn. Saluki puppies include red, golden, fawn, cream, black tan and white, and black and silver. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
