I'm Carrie L., the breeder behind Timeless Cottage Homestead Bernese located in Florence, AL. We have a small breeding program and all of our dogs are members of our family. We raise our puppies in our home. We are a homeschool family and spend our days loving and caring for our puppies. We breed for temperament, health and to meet the breed standard. Our goal is to raise the perfect family dog for the family searching for a new four legged family member that will be a great hiking buddy and an equally great cuddle buddy. Known for their gentleness with young children and animals, Bernese Mountain Dogs make a great addition to the family.

Why did you start breeding?
Several years ago we were looking for the ideal family companion that was gentle natured with small children and did well on a homestead. After many, many months of research we were led to the Bernese Mountain Dog and after discovering just how special this breed was we wanted to be apart of bringing the breed and its heritage to our area.What makes your program special?
We have been so blessed to have the opportunity to import European Champion lines and are looking forward to the opportunity of adding these world famous kennels' pedigrees into our program. All of our puppies are whelped and raised in our home, socialized with children and exposed to the everyday sights, sounds and smells of a home making them wonderful, confident family companions.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and guardian homes.
Getting a puppy from Carrie
Carrie has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.
Carrie partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 6 weeks old.
“We take great care to match the right temperaments with the right families based on the application submitted where you provide information about your family and lifestyle. Between 6-7 weeks is when puppies will be matched with their families. At that time we will set up a FaceTime call for you to meet and observe puppies that I believe would be a good match for your family.”

Hip Dysplasia , Hip Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered)
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
