Meet the breeder

I'm Amanda S., the breeder behind TopBrass Kennels located in Auburn, KS. Our goal is to ensure every dog from our program is set up to live a happy and healthy life and is prepared for its future role. It is important to us not only that we preserve our own phenomenal bloodlines, but that we are improving this breed with each litter and ensuring the well-being of these dogs for generations more to come!

Q. & A. with Amanda

  • Why did you start breeding?

I actually started out with showing. I bought my first crested, Gianni, from his breeder when he was a year old. I had shown a few cresteds for his breeder previously and fell in love with the breed. After a few years of showing them, I decided to start breeding.
  • What makes your program special?

I think there are a few things that make my program special, and beneficial to my potential puppy clients. One, my puppies are born in our bedroom, and live there until they are 3-4 weeks old. I stay home with them during this time, so they are monitored constantly and given lots of attention and snuggles.
  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Our puppies include powderpuff and hairless coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include white, black, slate, pink and slate, and black and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Amanda is the greatest. She went above and beyond to answer any and all questions I had before Hermes arrived. She is very organized and gives you everything you need. This is my first time getting a dog from a breeder and Amanda set the bar really high. I felt comfortable and secure through this entire process and I can’t recommend her enough. Thank you so much Amanda!

The process of getting Bodhi was amazing. Amanda answered any questions I asked and her recommendations have really helped me ensure Bodhi’s transition is as smooth as possible. Bodhi is already leash trained and is awesome on our outside adventures so far. Amanda truly cares about all her puppies and has been completely transparent throughout the process. I am so impressed with Top Brass and the reassurance they have given me being a “new again” puppy mom!
