I'm Lee N., the breeder behind Toto Terriers located in Toto, IN. First and foremost, our dogs are our pets. We occasionally breed if we feel that we have a specimen that can contribute to the gene pool of its particular breed. We are excited to share our puppies with others.

Silk! This week it’s been stack practice, showing the bite practice, and learning to be a part of the pack practice. We haven’t had to practice the cuddling part though, she’s got that down pat!❤️

Lee N.
Silk took a day trip today, getting socialization and building confidence along the way. She is eager to learn and fearless in new experiences.

Someone else wrote this, but it’s absolutely true: The only people who start discounting puppies after they reach a certain age are those who do not want to spend any more time or money on them. Rather than valuing your dogs, what you have produced, and your time, those discounted puppies are coming from 'breeders' who are really just in it to try to make a buck with the least amount of effort. Our goal seems to be putting more of my vet's kids through college. I see this all the time, people assume if a puppy is a little older they should be cheaper. And I get why people think that. Because a lot of people are used to seeing puppies pushed out the door at 8 weeks. And if they don’t sell right away the price drops. So it starts to feel normal. But that’s not how I do things. Because when a puppy stays here longer… they’re not just “waiting.” They’re getting more. More time. More work. More intention. More of me. Every single day they’re here, they’re being worked with. We’re building routines. Working on potty habits. Continuing crate training. Teaching them how to settle instead of panic. They’re going through our curriculum not just once, but consistently. They’re being exposed to real life. Sounds, movement, grooming, new environments all in a way that builds confidence instead of fear. And yes there’s a fear period in there too. And instead of sending them off right in the middle of that and hoping for the best, I’m here helping guide them through it. Helping them process things the right way. Helping them not become anxious or unsure. That matters more than people realize. And on top of all of that they’re being loved on constantly. Not just taken care of, loved. I know them. I know their personalities, their quirks, what kind of home they’ll thrive in. I know who’s more easygoing, who needs a little extra reassurance, who’s going to be someone’s shadow. That only comes with time. So when people ask why I don’t discount older puppies, it’s because you’re not getting “what’s left.” You’re getting a puppy that has had more poured into them. More structure. More exposure. More training. More one-on-one. More love. Just because a puppy stays with a breeder longer, does not mean they should be cheaper. We’re not trying to rush puppies out the door. We’re not money hungry. If anything, we’re the opposite. We will keep our puppies as long as they need to be kept. until the right home comes along, because their first home is here with us. I don’t care if someone comes to me ready to buy and take one home that day. That doesn’t impress me. What matters is where they’re going. Because this isn’t a bidding war. These are living, breathing puppies that we have poured our heart into since day one. Older puppies aren’t less valuable to me. If anything, they’re the ones I’ve spent more time with, put more work into, and poured even more of myself into. & that’s something I’ll never discount. 🤍

American Hairless Terrier
About Tootsie
Tootsie is AKC and UKC registered. She is a champion in UKC she has had all of her reading club recommended health testing done and has her CHIC number.
Excellent health testing
American Hairless Terrier
About Pippi
Pippi is a coated hairless terrier which my sound like an oxy-moron, but it means that she has hair, but carries both a hairless and a coated gene that she got from her parents, meaning one or both were coated. Regardless, coated IS a recognized variety of AHT. She is a UKC champion and has been shown in AKC. She was a terrific mother to these pups! Both of her parents received their CHIC for successfully completing AKC breed club required test testing.
American Hairless Terrier
About Freddie
Freddie is the product of our breeding between Tootsie & Ranger, both of whom have their CHIC health clearances as required by our breed club. He is feisty, handsome, and ready for the show ring. We love him as a cuddle bug and all around companion, yet he is also one of our show string.
American Hairless Terrier
About Ranger
UCH Lace The Naked Kisser of Toto "Ranger" is our fun loving, up for anything, adventurous boy! He is equally comfortable with lazing on the couch, playing fetch in the yard or showing off in the conformation ring. He is our very special boy from Kellye Townsend of Lace Kennel in TX.

Toto Terriers reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for American Hairless Terriers.
Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Patellar Luxation
Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.
Congenital Deafness (BAER, registered with OFA)
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
DNA Disease Panel
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

Lee and her breeder team was warm, friendly, and communicative when my husband and I approached them about the possibility of a new pup. Within 2 days, we all have a video call, agreed on the cost, transportation, and "starter kit" for Big Blue (aka Rune). The exchange went so so smoothly! Being a pet allergy sufferer, I've heard many positive things about American Hairless Terriers and it turns out that Lee and Boo's pup was an excellent choice for our family. I've had an initial skin break out from saliva, but zero sinus or sneezing issues! Rune is THE BEST puppy experience I've had.

Lee was very responsive and sent plenty of puppy pictures of Stinger. The entire process went smoothly from payments to arranging the pickup to actually picking up Stinger. Lee let us know that if there's anything we need or if we have any questions, she's always available to us to pick her brain. Stinger is a great addition to our household and we look forward to all the joy he'll bring us.

We are so impressed by how socialized our puppy already was before he came home with us. Lee did so much to ensure the pups were exposed to different things. We love our puppy, one of the best behaved we have had.
