I'm Susan S., the breeder behind TriSong TIbetan Terriers & Pumik located in Huntsville, TX. Home of Best in Show, Group Winning, Obedience Titled and Therapy Tibetan Terriers and Pumik. We are a Natural Rearing Breeder. Breeding since 1984, our focus has always been health and temperament while preserving the breed standard. All of our sires and dams are genetically tested through Embark and have hips certified as good or excellent. We guarantee the health of our puppies and provide 60 days of health coverage. We look forward to introducing you to the puppy of your dreams! Please note that this is not a business. I am currently tackling law school so responses may take a few days. If you’re looking for a quick placement I am not the breeder for you. Additionally, I use many platforms to showcase photographs of my dogs. Sales platforms are where I post last.
Q. & A. with Susan
Why did you start breeding?
Breeding is a natural extension of showing. However, my breeding program has always focused on therapy and service prospects. I specifically breed for temperaments conducive to working with children with learning disabilities and veterans with PTSD.
What makes your program special?
We have planned for the long term to ensure optimal health, temperament, and longevity. We do not breed other US dogs. We bring genetic diversity into our program from a Finnish breeder. We are selective in placements and don't place puppies that are not born or offer pups before > 8 weeks. Selling is not why we breed. If we do place, we maintain a lifelong commitment to each puppy.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Breeder-Reported Testing
Great level
TriSong TIbetan Terriers & Pumik reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Pumik.
Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
