I'm Sarah S., the breeder behind T&S Anatolians located in Daggett, MI. Dogs from my program can excel in a variety of fields, including as livestock guardian dogs. I keep in mind a variety of factors when breeding, including drive, energy, temperament, and structure. My goal is to produce balanced dogs that will be able to thrive wherever they are needed.
Q. & A. with Sarah
Why did you start breeding?
I originally got our first Anatolian to answer the need of finding a way to protect the flock from predators. Ultimately I was looking for a way to peacefully coexist. I now want to share this knowledge with others and produce the best of the best.
What makes your program special?
I advocate for education on the breed and positive training. I believe we as humans are our dog’s shepherds and require a deep bond that goes both ways! I am very hands on with my dogs and put in a vast amount of training to them all. Puppies are placed in homes based off the results of the Volhard’s Puppy Aptitude Test, which is completed when the pups are 49 days of age.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and guardian homes.
