Zao, mom
German Shepherd
About Zao
Zao is my husbands right arm. She is trained as a service dog and always looking for ways to help. Zao loves our grand children, kitties, other dogs and even our horses. She loves to smile and she is so gentle you sometimes forget that she is huge. She still loves being a lap dog but only when my husband says it is okay. Were ever we go folks are amazed at how beautiful and well behaved she is. She is the kind of dog that many always dream of living with and her puppies in the past have always been adored! Buck is very similar in temperament and his pedigree goes back to some of my original dogs from the 1970s. That nature is what made our puppies treasured and so we have keep that linage for decades and generations. Now we are looking forward to sharing this family with a few select families. Please contact me for more information.
Skia, mom
German Shepherd
About Skia
Skia is a female German Shepherd. Carefully selected as a great representative of her breed, Twila decided to make her part of their program. Twila has passed Good Dog’s screening process, which involved a review of their breeding practices, environment, and the mental and physical health of their dogs.
Parent health testing
Twila Ruth Herot reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for German Shepherds.
Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Canine Good Citizen (CGC)
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
