Meet the breeder

I'm Braxton S., the breeder behind Uinta Mountain Shepherds located in Kamas, UT. Located in Kamas, Utah, Uinta Mountain Shepherds focuses on producing well-bred AKC Imported German Shepherds with strong temperament, structure, and health. Our program is built on selective breeding, proven lines, and a hands-on approach to raising capable, well-balanced dogs.

Q. & A. with Braxton

  • Why did you start breeding?

Our journey began with our first German Shepherd, who quickly became an important part of our family. Through her, we developed a deep appreciation for the intelligence, loyalty, and versatility of the breed. That experience naturally led us to pursue breeding with a focus on doing things thoughtfully and prioritizing health, temperament, and carefully selected pairings over quantity.
  • What makes your program special?

Our program is built around carefully selected European bloodlines with proven pedigrees, health testing, and strong working backgrounds. We take a hands-on approach from day one, focusing on early development, structure, and raising balanced, confident dogs. Every pairing is intentional, with the goal of producing German Shepherds that are dependable, capable, and true to the breed.
  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Our puppies have stock coats. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies are black and red. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
