Getting a puppy from Deanana

Deanana has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

Deanana partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 6 weeks old.

“choosing a puppy isn’t simply about picking a color, choosing the biggest puppy, or falling in love with the first little face that catches your eye. Our priority is creating the best possible match between each puppy and their future home. From the time our puppies are born, we spend countless hours observing them as they grow and develop. We get to know their individual personalities, confidence levels, energy, drive, engagement, independence, resilience, and how they interact with people, new environments, and their littermates. As the puppies get older, we also use temperament evaluations to help us better understand each puppy’s natural strengths and tendencies. We combine those results with everything we have observed throughout their development. We then consider what each family is looking for and the lifestyle that puppy will be entering. A puppy destined for an active companion home may need very different qualities than one being considered for therapy or service work, dog sports, search and rescue, personal protection, law enforcement, or another working role. Our goal is not to give someone the puppy they think is the cutest — it is to help them take home the puppy most likely to thrive with them for years to come. We welcome preferences regarding sex, appearance, coat, and personality, and we absolutely take those preferences into consideration. However, temperament, suitability, and the needs of the puppy always come first. Final puppy selections are made after temperament evaluations and are based on the combination of: * Temperament and personality * Confidence and environmental stability * Energy and activity level * Drive and working potential * Engagement and handler focus * Individual family dynamics and lifestyle * Experience level of the future owner * Intended purpose for the puppy * The puppy’s individual needs Because we raise and evaluate these puppies every day, we often see qualities that aren’t obvious during a short visit or from photos and videos. That insight allows us to guide families toward the puppy we believe will be the strongest match. At Valor-K9s, we’re not just placing puppies. We’re matching dogs with people — with the goal of creating partnerships that last a lifetime.”
