I'm Melissa O., the breeder behind Vom Cosabar located in Vancouver, WA. All of our dogs are fully health tested and titled in a vast array of sports. We focus on German shepherds that not only will do well in sports but also as an active companion. All our puppies are vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped, AKC registered before they leave us.

Why did you start breeding?
My friend and mentor I met many years ago, at a UKC dog show with Chiron, has been helping and guiding me in producing my first litter. I have always been involved in the dog world and had dabbled in the idea of breeding but it takes dedication, heart, and soul to produce a healthy well balanced litter and I wanted to make sure I was starting off right so I waited many years until I felt I had the best help and a wonderful female to start my lines.What makes your program special?
We health test all of our dogs, making sure they will not pass any health defects onto their prodigy. Each dog in our program are also temperament tested, Championed in UKC, and have many other titles to prove they are not only structurally sound but also mentally sound and can do the job.What are the different breed coat types in your program?
Our puppies have stock coats. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include sable and black. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?

Getting a puppy from Melissa
Melissa has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.

Price
Puppy prices include a $250 non-refundable deposit and between $2,250 - $2,550 final payment, before taxes & fees.
“The price includes both parents being fully health tested, titled, and temperament tested, puppies are dewormed, vaccinated/microchipped, raised with many aspects from puppy culture, AKC registered. The deposit is our non-refundable/holding fee to insure your hold on said puppy.”
Contract & health guarantee
Melissa may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Temperament Test
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
Full Embark Panel, Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
